A New Take on SF Action Running on Kickstarter with ‘Traveller Ascension: Imperial Warrant’

Traveller Ascension: Imperial WarrantI had a chance to chat with my pal Terry Coleman at the past Origins Game Fair and he gave me a bit of a heads up with a new company which was launching and a pretty exciting Traveller license which had been obtained, with the support of original creator Marc Miller. Now the work behind the scenes has come to fruition with the Kickstarter launch of Traveller Ascension: Imperial Warrant and the project is very close to full funding after just a few days as the initial offering from Daring Play.

Traveller Ascension: Imperial Warrant (that’s sort of a mouthful) looks to be a 4X game where you’ll explore the galaxy as you look to make your faction’s mark in the emerging Third Age of the Imperium. Rather than taking a traditional American style of gameplay it looks as if the title has a very Euro feel to much of the proceedings. You can lend support to receive the base copy of the game at the $80 pledge level.

About the project:

Secure your Imperial Warrant to Explore, Expand and Exploit the galaxy for the glory of the Imperium…and your own fame and fortune.

Traveller Ascension: Imperial Warrant places you at the center of one of the most exciting periods in Traveller history. It is the dawn of the Third Age of the Imperium. The dark times of the empire are behind us, and the future is ripe with the promise of rapid expansion, untold adventures, and even danger, on the wild frontiers of the galaxy. But rewards come only to those who are bold enough to seize that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Traveller Ascension: Imperial Warrant is a chance to carve out your own piece of the cosmos. You have been tasked by the Emperor to move into a new sector of the galaxy: Use your newly-acquired Imperial Warrant to Explore, to Expand and to Exploit this new area for the glory of the Imperium…and for your own fame and glory.

Thanks so much for listing this exciting new project, Jeff. Decades ago we weren’t into RPG’s, but even then we recognized the wonderful universe of TRAVELLER and hoped that one day it would become a boardgame. Well, lo and behold that time has finally come!
