The latest adventure for the Achtung! Cthulhu 2d20 roleplaying game has landed from Modiphius Entertainment. In Operation Oberon, the operatives will travel to Shanghai aiming to disrupt Axis treasure smuggling. The 37 page PDF is available at DriveThruRPG for $7.50.
About the adventure:
Triad Trouble in Shanghai
Shanghai, China: January 1943. The city is in the tight grip of the Imperial Japanese Army. While high society revellers enjoy the delights of the “Paris of the east”, Black Sun secretly loot the occult treasures of the Pacific under the nose of the Japanese occupiers.
Section M learns that the Germans have a secret way of smuggling these treasures out, codenamed Oberon and are using it to systematically steal the treasures of southeast Asia. The agents are sent to Shanghai to investigate and interdict the Black Sun operation.
But brute force will be of little use initially and espionage and deception will be to the fore. The agents have a lead and must infiltrate the Wagnerian, a Shanghai nightclub in the notorious Badlands, where Black Sun operatives have been spotted. The only problem is the Wagnerian is home to the notorious Feilong Triad and an organisation known as the 3-Headed Dragon Society. Could these triads be in league with the cult?
Following the trail into the heart of the city leads them into many weird adventures: underground temples, strange occult practices and even a street war between the Feilong Triad and their Sumchun rivals.
Once they discover Oberon’s true nature what can they do to shut down this ingenious smuggling operation? And will they survive when confronted by a powerful ancient sorcerer and a horror from night’s blackest depths?
