Following a successful Kickstarter run, Succubus Publishing is readying the return of Middara Unintentional Malum – Act 1. The miniatures game is an anime inspired dungeon crawler featuring hundreds of character combinations and over 90 hours of gameplay. Middara Unintentional Malum – Act 1 is for one to four players, ages 15+, plays in 45 minutes to three hours depending on the encounter, and carries an MSRP of $250.00.
About the game:
Welcome to Middara, a vibrant alternate-world fantasy setting with a modern-day flair! Players follow the young princess Nightingale and her trusted group of friends as they embark on a wild journey through the kingdom of Elenia. Together, the group must brave Middara’s dangerous caves, winding forests, ancient ruins, and haunted dungeons. They’ll face moral dilemmas, battle lethal opponents, recruit new allies, and make decisions that will radically change the outcome of the adventure.
Middara is the first anime-inspired dungeon crawler with a “choose-your-own-adventure”-style narrative. Unlike many other dungeon crawls, Middara doesn’t rely on starting over when an encounter is lost or a bad decision is made. Instead, the story continues, and the outcome of the story changes.
With a 483-page Adventure book containing 90+ hours of content, Middara Unintentional Malum: Act I is a unique, story-driven board game heavily inspired by Japanese role-playing-game tactics mechanics and atmosphere. The player customization is nearly endless. Using a point-buy system, players build their own classes by mixing and matching over 200 different items and over 110 different abilities.
