In a recent article in the Florida Times, reporter M.C. Finotti says that the market research firm The NPD Group reported in January that traditional board game and puzzle sales declined 9 percent in 2010. I’m not sure how in-depth the study was or if hobby boardgaming was included as a whole, but the article includes comments by Rio Grande’s own Jay Tummelson.
The article goes on to say much about how board games can bring families together, it is quite good and I recommend you give it a read despite the fact that it focuses on traditional board games as nearly all mainstream articles do.
