I dive in for my review of the second edition of the Land of the Rising Sun supplement for the fifth edition of Chivalry & Sorcery. The 316 page volume is packed with all you need to bring C&S to life in a fantastical Japan. Is this a reworking of the classic 1980s sourcebook or simply a rehash gussied up with a new coat of polish? You’ll find out!

SUMMARY

While this isn't a completely new book, the second edition of Land of the Rising Sun, isn't simply the initial book with color illustrations; the page count has essentially doubled from 1E. This is an absolute must have for those running Chivalry & Sorcery and are interested in a fantasy version of Japan. I have to say there's plenty contained within which will be of use to GMs running any other RPG system too. This is also an interesting read rather than only being valuable as a gaming resource.
