Cry Havoc is an asymmetrical strategy game. It’s a bit of a war game, mixed with a bit of deck building, and a ton of area-control which results in an amazingly deep struggle that plays in about 90 minutes! Seriously. How awesome is that!?
Like all of our games, Cry Havoc includes 4 unique factions… actually, they are armies in this game. Each one has a unique set of skills, tactics, and conditions that will earn them victory points. This is an area control game at heart, but there’s so much more going on!
That’s because there is a unique way of resolving combat we call Battle Objective Resolution. When you send your troops to fight, you may have different objectives in mind. Maybe you want to take control of new territory. Maybe you want to claim prisoners. Maybe, you just want to mow them down and come out of it alive. However you approach it, your faction may score you different VPs based on the outcome.
Oh, and this is a card-driven game, remember? Guess what, you can also change your deck! Not only do you have complete control over how the battle is resolved, you also get to control the cards in your hand that will help you with the battle with a unique deckbuilding mechanic. This planet is made up of 4 different terrain types, and there is a terrain deck for each type. By adding cards into your deck from these various terrains, you can increase your battle prowess even more!
