I tackle the Cult of the Cave Crickets adventure, for Dungeon Crawl Classics, from Dark Star Adventures by way of Goodman Games. The fantasy tale is for four to six second level characters as they investigate the disappearance of a group of researchers studying a fallen star.

Will there be a cult? Will there be crickets? You’ll find out!

SUMMARY

There's plenty here to recommend Cult of the Cave Crickets as a bit of a cosmic horror, fantasy turn for lower level Dungeon Crawl Classics players. This should make for a fun couple of sessions or so although I wouldn't saddle the character, who possesses the lowest Personality attribute, with the affliction called for in the adventure; I'd come up with something else to get under the characters' skins and drive the weirdness home. In the end, a nice solid, old school styled adventure.
