Today’s D&D Direct presentation provided a wee bit of a sneak peek at two new Dragonlance releases for Dungeons & Dragons. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a return of the popular setting from Wizards of the Coast and this year will see an adventure supplement as well as a board game released. The book is titled Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen and the board game is titled Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn. It doesn’t appear original Dragonlance creators Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman are involved with either of these products.
From WotC:
Dragonlance is coming back to D&D later this year! Battle for the world of Dragonlance across an adventure book and battle game that includes options to link them together as a new way to play D&D.
Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen is an adventure book that tells a brand-new story at the beginning stages of the War of the Lance.
Dragonlance: Warriors of Krynn introduces a war game experience to D&D 5th Edition, featuring large scale military battles.
That’s about it as far as what we currently know. Of course, as more details become available I’ll bring them to you. In the meantime we have a short teaser trailer for the board game.
