Fearsome Wilderness Arrives This Q4

Following a successful Kickstarter, Geektopia Games will be releasing Fearsome Wilderness in late 2021. The cooperative survival game will task four heroes to survive a hostile land. The game is for one to four players, ages 14+, plays in around 45 to 90 minutes, and will carry an MSRP of $59.99 when it arrives in Q4.

About the game:

Fend off the unnatural Fearsome Critters of folklore. Endure grueling days and tormented nights in the forest. Time is short. Can you survive with only twelve weeks til winter?

Paul Bunyan, Johnny Appleseed and friends have 12 weeks to prepare for winter in the epic struggle of human versus nature. In this cooperative, dice-rolling campaign game for 1-4 players, the heroes work together to battle fearsome critters and the oncoming cold to gather and build everything they’ll need to survive. Roll dice to plant and chop trees, gather food and water, and fend off critters and nightmares. Move your figures within the wilderness, gather and haul wood and stone to build your log cabin and other amenities. Gain and manage both good and bad conditions to your mind and body. Complete your goals and explore the mystery of the fearsome wilderness.

Fearsome Wilderness is a cooperative board game for 1-4 players that takes about 45-90 minutes per game session.  Players, working together, control 4 folk heroes who are trying to survive the wilderness and accomplish different goals each week. Each player may select any number of folk heroes to control but typically in a 4 player game, each player controls 1 folk hero.

The game also includes the Twelve Weeks til Winter campaign which spans 12-24 sessions.  Each session in the campaign represents one week as you tell the story of how these folk heroes survived (or perished) during the first 12 weeks before winter and beyond. It is designed so that the campaign will last at least 12 sessions and no more than 24. When you fail your weekly goal, mark it in your journal and replay the scenario. If you fail twice, move on and attempt the next week’s goals but Winter is now one week closer and the Winter rules add difficulty.
