Firefly Echoes of War: Friends in Low Places and Serenity Crew Available from Margaret Weis

Although the early word on the Gen Con Firefly RPG preview has been less than stellar, I’ll reserve my take for the final product but the preview/beginner products continue to flow. Margaret Weis Productions has two new releases available before the core set arrives: Firefly Echoes of War: Friends in Low Places and Firefly Echoes of War: Serenity Crew.

The War between the Alliance and the Independents is a sore subject for a lot of folks, some more than others. Take Captain Malcolm Reynolds for example. Now here’s a guy who fought in the Battle of Serenity Valley and laid down arms in front of his enemy. That kind of experience changes a man—and it’ll change you, too.

Serenity Crew allows you to spend your days playing Mal, Zoe, Wash, Kaylee, Inara, Jayne, Simon, Book, or River. If you’re the type that wants to try something new, take a gander at the twelve archetypes we’re offering you, too. If the math’s right, that’s twenty-one different options for you to play a character in the ‘Verse.

Serenity Crew is part of the Echoes of War role-playing adventure series, which is centered on a common theme: the Unification War. All characters and archetypes in this release employ the Cortex Plus system. The Serenity Crew is compatible with the Echoes of War adventures and all other releases in the Firefly Role-Playing Game line, which are all sold separately. The Firefly Role-Playing Game is based on the hit television series by Fox.

This release was first featured in Gaming in the ‘Verse: Gen Con 2013 Exclusive. This title is the stand-alone version.

Friends in Low PlacesFirefly Echoes of War: Friends in Low Places

Sometimes meeting up with old friends in Serenity View is cause for celebration, but not this time. Over drinks, you and your Crew discover that Monty’s new wife Daisy has gone missing. Worse, your pal thinks that Virgil Morningstar, a Guild trader with a heap of Alliance connections, had something to do with her disappearance. By the time you find out Daisy ain’t the only one who’s vanished, you and your Crew’ll be neck-deep in trouble and hard-pressed to find your way out of it. Thing is, if you do unravel this little mystery, you’ll claim a big reward and be heroes to boot.

Friends in Low Places is part of the ECHOES OF WAR roleplaying adventure series, which is centered on a common theme: the Unification War. ECHOES OF WAR adventures include basic rules to get you started employing the Cortex Plus game system. Main characters are found in Serenity Crew, which is available separately. All releases in the ECHOES OF WAR line are compatible with the upcoming FIREFLY ROLE-PLAYING GAME, which is based on the television series by Joss Whedon.
