Hey was there a Planet Here? Forgotten Planet from Giochix Coming

For those lucky enough to be heading to the 2011 Spiel, you can pre-order Forgotten Planet from Giochix and pick it up at Spiel 2011. Otherwise shipping to the States will be 38 euros (Ug!).

Forgotten Planet is a strategic game of tile placement and robot actions designed by Michele Quondam. It is for 2-4 players and a play last about 75 minutes.

The game will be released for the next International Spiel Essen Fair (Germany) and in Italy for Lucca Comics Fair. It will be a multilingual edition (Italian, English, German, French).

The search for the energy crystals continues without respite all around the universe! The merchant Guild is ready to pay outrageous amounts of money and all the Seekers roam around to find them. Breaking News! The Forgotten Planet’s surface, on the edge of galaxy, is full of them. In few days, a new gold race begins, where men are replaced by robots, that search, explore and fight to control the precious mineral …

Each player is a space miner that is trying to get the favor of the powerful Intergalactic Merchant Mining Guild. To do that, you try to get the control of the Forgotten Planet’s surface in order to prepare the coming mining settlement.

Players score Victory Points (VP), which represent the favor that players get with the Guild thanks to their work on the Forgotten Planet.

In order to achieve VP, a player has to develop a mining base as large as possible and has to open and mine crystal mines. Players do that by placing tiles around their Control Center and moving their robots over the tiles.

It’s also possible to steal part of the mining base of another player, attack and destroy tiles, and build walls.

A player will receive VPs at the end of the game in proportion to the extension of his controlled land. Other VPs will be assigned by producing and selling crystals or controlling special mines.

Contents: 28 Robots, 116 Tiles, 19 VP tiles, 4 angle markers, 9 grid spacers, 60 resource cubes, 140 ownership markers, 28 wall sticks, 1 die, 12 reference sheet.
