Rebel Scum Takes Flight on Kickstarter for 9th Level Games

Rebel Scum (9th Level Games)9th Level Games has unleashed a new Polymorph roleplaying game as part of ZineQuest III, on Kickstarter. Rebel Scum is a fast, moving SF RPG which draws inspiration from space operas, fighting Nazis, and action figures. The project is over 800% funded and you can reserve a copy of Rebel Scum for a $10.00 pledge for the PDF or $15.00 for the physical zine through February 11th, with an expected delivery this August.

About the project:

REBEL SCUM is a cinematic RPG about a WAR IN THE STARS  inspired by a deep love of old school action figures and of punching Nazis in the face. Created with the award-winning polymorph rules, REBEL SCUM is a fast paced, feel good, space opera adventure game about rebellion against a callous and evil government.

Over the last few years, there has been a startling rise in the number of people that are willing to SPEW HATE.  These people believe in white power, and fill the internet with nativist, racist, fascist crap.  Quite a few of these evildoers are deeply entrenched in the various FANDOMS that us nerds adore.  Very specifically the fandom of a certain space opera franchise that we love with our whole hearts has too many sad bad guys.

We are making REBEL SCUM as a way to re-discover the roots of the original message – how some scrappy, anti-fascist heroes can fight back against a government with unlimited power (including giant lasers and space magic).  There is something refreshing and healing about getting to punch space nazis in their faces in a game, while we are living in a time when we have once again been called on to fight ACTUAL fascism in the real world (not just in our space operas).

So, we started punching Space Nazis in the face, and we realized that our LOVE for ROLEPLAYING probably started with our love for a certain line of 3 and 3/4 inch ACTION FIGURES.  Pew-pew!  Our countless hours of space adventures and galactic epics, played out with little plastic guys, were a natural preparation for a lifetime of making and playing characters in roleplaying games.
