The Starfinder roleplaying game is receiving a board game with the release of Pirates of Stardock from Gale Force 9. In the game, players’ crews compete against one another to successfully pull off one of the biggest space heists ever. Starfinder Pirates of Stardock is for two to four players, ages 14+, plays in around 60 to 90 minutes, and will carry an MSRP of $60.00 when it arrives later this week.
About the game:
You’ve got your crew, know the right folks, and even have a line on a potential financial backer who might grease the right palms to set you on the path to becoming a top-rate pirate. You’re just missing one thing: a ship.
Lucky for you, you happen to know there’s a top-of-the-line vessel with all the newest tech sitting in dock just waiting for an enterprising individual to take it out among the stars. Of course, if you know that, others do, too, and there can be only one captain. Will you become the newest pirate to set sail among the stars?
In Starfinder: Pirates of Skydock, players compete to be the one to successfully pull of one of the greatest heists of all time. Players take turns moving around the ship to complete objectives and gain the support they need to be recognized as the new captain. Over the course of the game, players build their characters to suit their style of play. When the ship launches, one of the players will emerge victorious — provided the ship doesn’t go into lockdown first!
Pirates of Skydock tells the story of several Starfinder adventurers trying to seize a new vessel. Players must accomplish several tasks to steal the ship. Doing so will require a combination of glory, crew support, and potentially external backers. The adventurers can work together to accomplish their goals, but only the character with the greatest glory will win the bet and become captain. Of course, if security gets too high, the ship will lock down and no character will become captain.
