Hasbro has revealed a trio of Stranger Things related games based on the hit Netflix series. While two titles are just reskinned editions of dusty board games – Monopoly and, although it does fit in with the series I find it odd, a Quiji board – the third is what will no doubt pique people’s interests. The Stranger Things/Kellogg’s Eggo Card Game (just guessing at the title since it could simply be “Card Game” from the packaging, appears to be a take on Uno wherein players assume the roles of some of the series characters as they mess with each other in order to be the first to discard all of their cards.
Yeah… It’s Uno…
Currently there’s no word on a release date or MSRP. Granted, this bizarrely presented card game will probably hold little appeal for serious gamers and the fact it’s a Hasbro release surely doesn’t help get my juices flowing. Still, it could be worth a laugh or two as well as please younger fans of the show.
From Hasbro:
Play as your favorite characters from the hit NETFLIX Series STRANGER THINGS with the STRANGER THINGS: EGGO CARD GAME! To begin, players choose to play as Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Eleven, Hopper, or Barb and draw four EGGO cards with a variety of suspenseful outcomes. Cards can either send a player’s character to the UPSIDE DOWN, make an opponent draw 2, reverse the order of play, summon the DEMOGORGON, or cause a rift that sends everyone who was RIGHT SIDE Up to the UPSIDE DOWN, and vice versa! To win and escape the UPSIDE DOWN, get rid of all your EGGO cards before the DEMOGORGON attacks or be toast! Game includes 106 EGGO-shaped game cards and 7 character cards.
