Support TGG! Pay What You Want for The Gaming Gang Guide to Great Game Mastering!

Many times our audience have asked Elliott and I how they can go about donating to the website. The reply has always been our policy to never solicit donations from our visitors or listeners. This was something we decided upon before we got up and running back in August of 2010. We believe just as firmly now, as we did then, in not looking to browbeat people who stop by or listen in order to financially support our endeavor.

This said, we have some interesting items we’d love to bring to the public while also satisfying the urge some folks have in lending us a hand in the continuing operation of The Gaming Gang. Elliott and I are just a couple of working Joes so it isn’t as if we’re dipping into some magical trust funds or inheritances to cover the expenses of traveling to various conventions or the rising cost of hosting the website and the ever growing bandwidth requirements for over 130+ audio programs.

Our first release under our TGG Productions umbrella is The Gaming Gang Guide to Great Game Mastering. This is simply the first of a planned schedule of goodies we’re going to bring to the public. We’re using the book/audiobook bundle as a way to gauge what sort of interest people have as far helping support TGG as well what we’d like roll out in the future. I understand the focus of this release might not be our main audience’s cup of tea but based on the success of this initial project will determine if we continue with future products that might be more up someone’s alley. As a bit of a tease, if we find enough interest in the game mastering guide, in late August/early September I’ll be releasing Jellicoe and Scheer, a set of World War I naval era miniature rules for quick playing battles regardless of fleet size. Elliott and I are also working with some film professionals and are in the early planning stages of a project, which will more than likely end up on Kickstarter, to bring something to the public that many historical and wargamers will be very excited about as the project is something never done before. Yet, these are on the horizon and will mostly be based on the success of the book/audiobook.

Good luck with this project guys! RPG’s are not my thing, but I’ll sign up for Jellicoe and Scheer immediately. See you in Tempe next week! Hermann

We know the eBook/audio book won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but we’re hoping some folks who may not be into RPGs will still take advantage of checking them out and at least giving us an opinion, while helping to support the site. 😉

      See you next week!

RPG goodies by the Gaming Gang? Can’t go wrong with that!
It seems the Paypal link is forwarding to the default Paypal page. Which e-mail should one use to send you the gold coins?

    • Jeff McAleer says:

Paulo, for some reason the button didn’t work properly but it’s been fixed so it will now take people to the donation page and then to the download link.

I have to say I was mighty impressed by the quality of the book. Not to say I didn’t think it would be good as I find a lot of the opinions voiced around here to be at least interesting and at times thought provoking but this is actually a whole lot more professional than I was expecting. I find loads of typographical or grammar errors in many of the RPG pdfs I buy online for $20 o $30 bucks and here’s a pay what you’d like product and I don’t think I ran across a single one.

In additional there’s a lot of helpful information for GMs old and new while some of the stories of Jeff’s gaming gang were a lot of fun. The audiobook sounds good but I have to say I didn’t listen to the whole thing as it’s the recorded book and I had already finished reading it. I can see where some people would want to listen to the audio rather than read because Jeff adds some inflection to the reading that you don’t get from the printed page.

After checking out the guide, I can see how Elliott can say Jeff is the best GM he ever played with as the thoughts expressed show me Jeff’s focus is on having a great time. This is really good stuff!
