On this episode, Elliott reviews The Wizard’s Tower expansion for Castle Panic from Fireside Games, Jeff reviews the 2011 Core Box for Dust Tactics from FFG, and the boys look back at some of their favorite personal gaming memories of 2011.

This episode is listed as episode 31 again in both iTunes and Zune. I can’t get it to download correctly on either one. The new daily dope did download, however.
Fixed! An apostrophe snuck into a sentence and it threw the whole file off.
I’ve never actually took time to comment before but I have to say the gaming gang is my favorite podcast to listen to. The way Jeff and Elliott present the show might not be what the average gamer likes to hear but I for one enjoy the fact that they can talk about Black Eyed Children and spook the crap out of me and then get down to the business of talking about games and then tell me about some book I should check out. I’d never heard of We’re Alive before and that’s a cool show! Obviously these two are intelligent guys with lives and interests outside of simply playing games and reviewing them.
It was either Elliott or Jeff who mentioned they don’t script the show and only know what games each will review before they record. I think this has much to do with the appeal of the podcast because just about all the other podcasts out there are so heavily scripted that when they try to add some humor it really falls flat. I find myself laughing out loud, normally at some inappropriate time when I’m out in public listening to the show on my ipod, because these two never fail to provide some funny quips on every show!
Who in the world would try to turn the page of their Kindle using only their psychic powers? Obviously Elliott because he tells us so. I was in line at the bank and people thought I was crazy because I couldn’t stop laughing at that one!
I always feel like I’m listening in to two old friends chatting about games and other things gamers might think are worthy to check out. But more importantly I can tell Elliott and Jeff are really enjoying the time they spend together on the show and the fun they have is contagious to the listenr. These two certainly love games and I’m even more certain they have a great love for each other as well. Even when they tease each other you can tell it’s the kind of busting you do with a real friend instead of just being jerky or one upping someone.
For my money – and it’s free – the gaming gang is the best podcast for REAL gamers out there right now!
Thanks Ted! It really helps when we hear that people appreciate what we are doing. This was one of my favorite shows so far. You are right, if we had to speak ONLY about games with no mention of anything else we’d get bored, which I think would bore everyone else too.
Unfortunately, my psychic powers still aren’t working. I’m still flipping pages manually…sigh
Thank you again, we really appreciate the support
Hola guys,
Left a five star review on i-tunes, because there isn’t a six star review. I have enjoyed listening to your show the last year or so. I especially like your honest and in depth reviews of a variety of games that are done with a bit of humor. I also appreciate the wide variety of games that you cover. I mainly play war games but if its a good game, I’ll give it a go. It’s nice to have a great go to website for all types of games. Finally, thank you for not hitting me up for donations, like some podcasts that shall not be named. Keep up the great work.
Andy
GO CANES!
P.S. At first I thought your daily dope episodes was a silly idea, but now it is part of my morning routine, good call! Thanks for thinking outside the box.
You weren’t the only one who thought I was nuts to even think of putting a weekday show out there – and I’m not only talking about Elliott. I can say that the response has been overwhelmingly positive too, so that’s nice.
I apologize if there isn’t a new episode of The Daily Dope ready every morning as I’ve never claimed I’d release each podcast in the mornings, but I’m doing my best to help make your commute a little more interesting. At least I can say I haven’t missed a day yet!
Thank a bunch for the review! As I mentioned in another comment, we currently have over a thousand downloads of each episode of TGG and those are pretty good numbers for a show that’s less than a year and a half old! We’re gamers like yourself; a good game is a good game and we really don’t care what genre it falls into!
We know we’re not everyone’s cup of tea and we’re actually quite happy with that fact. Maybe we should come up with a special decoder ring and create a club in which you can send in X number of box tops to get one! Then we’ll finish each show with a secret message!
Hahahaha!
And don’t you worry about us ever hitting you up for donations either! That’s not our style and never will be! We will ask you, from time to time, to help spread the word about us or if you’re out at any of the cons we’re attending and see either one or both of us you pop over and say hello! For us, that’s waaaaay better than sending us a dollar or two…
