I’m sure Conflict of Heroes: Awakening the Bear, from Academy Games, needs no introduction to the wargamers out there as the title has garnered loads of awards including an Origins Award for best Historical Wargame and a couple of Charles S. Roberts Awards! Now a second edition has hit with more units, more firefights, and all new artwork making the game an even bigger must have. Truth be told, I was excited to get my hands on the game because I’d heard so much about it but hadn’t had a chance to give it a spin. I’ll have a full review soon enough but to tide you over, here’s a peek at all the goodies the 2nd edition has to offer!

Love fest!! Stunning rule book! Great player aids. Laser cut counters? They look almost as large as the Lock n Load counters. LOVE THE MAPS!!! thanks for sharing.
I want to say the counters are a little bit larger than the Lock ‘n Load counters. It really is a spectacular box of goodies and I’m getting my first games in this weekend!
Hey Jeff, can you really learn the basics of this system in 5 minutes? Sounds like a wanna be wargamer’s dream. Is the system really so user-friendly?
