The Gaming Gang Goes Black January 18th

In opposition to the proposed SOPA/PIPA in front of U.S. legislators, The Gaming Gang will join websites such as Reddit, Wikipedia, and others through the country and take part in a SOPA Blackout beginning at midnight EST January 18th. It’s important to note that we at The Gaming Gang do not condone online piracy of any shape or form but the current bills now before our Senate and House of Representatives are too broad and poorly defined. We do not believe either bill, the Stop Online Piracy Act or the Protect IP Act, provides any true deterrent to online pirates while actually providing government and private enterprises the ability to censor and censure websites and Americans’ access to websites around the globe. We feel the laws fight piracy in a way that does not preserve the freedom and openness of the internet, and that they provide the government with unfair tools to censor online speech.

Wednesday’s The Daily Dope will be available to subscribers of iTunes and those who enjoy our programs through our RSS feed while the blackout is in place. We will be back as usual on Thursday beginning at midnight EST.
