Live the life of a debutante during the Regency era in this dramatic, historical board game! The Season aims to bring the ups and downs of bachelorette life of Regency England to your home.
As the season begins, indulgent suppers at grand mansions, exclusive private parties with titillating entertainment, and sumptuous balls bathed in glittering candlelight await you. You may visit town, enhance your accomplishments, purchase luxurious gowns, or gamble with the girls, but make sure you keep your reputation in mind.
For the next few months, you have two goals: secure yourself a (preferably) handsome and (also preferably) wealthy husband, and elevate your family’s social standing with your charm, wit, and talents.
The Season is played in rounds over the course of 4 quarters. Each quarter begins with 4 rounds, followed by a Ball. The end of the 4th Ball marks the end of the game.
Each round consists of an Action Phase followed immediately by a Special Event Phase.
At the beginning of each quarter, an invitation is sent out to the debutantes with the promise of supper, dancing, and a chance to meet some of London’s most eligible suitors.
Each ball has a theme, chosen by the elegant hosts. If you wear a dress and/or accessory that matches the theme of the ball, you will receive high praise from the hosts and will earn yourself additional Reputation Points!
