There are only fifteen days left to pledge your support for Kevin G. Nunn designed 1955: The War of Espionage to be published by Living Worlds Games. As of this writing they are a bit over the halfway mark to the $7500 Kickstarter goal in order to produce and deliver the game. Elliott and I both received preproduction copies and will be presenting out extended sneak peek -we can’t call it complete, full fledged review review simply because we have not seen the finished product -and our overall final thoughts on game play on the upcoming podcast. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we won’t be posting Episode Seven of The Gaming Gang until Christmas morning. I suppose it’ll give our listeners something to pop into the old MP3 player while they prepare their holiday dinners for their family and friends!
I will let the cat out of the bag to some extent by saying we both have enjoyed this two player card game (after multiple plays) and hope that 1955 goes to print. I’ll point out that it’s important to dive into the special abilities of the cards as soon as you begin your first few games because the underlaying strategy becomes much clearer and the card combos can be loads of fun! We’ll have more to say on the show though!
You can view the rules in their preart/editing stage by downloading this PDF file.
There are quite a few different ways for you to financially support the publishing of 1955, including the opportunity to have a graphical rendition of your very own likeness included in the game. Visit the 1955 Kickstarter page to learn more!
