True Blood Night Eternal Coming SoonIf you follow the hit HBO series True Blood the latest Cryptozoic Entertainment should get your blood pumping. Coming this June True Blood: Night Eternal will hit your FLGS and present an ancient game in which vampire take part. Although details are fairly sketchy at best, we do know solicits for the game are indicating an MSRP of $30 and a release date of June 26th, 2013.

Cryptozoic COO Scott Gaeta lays out the basics. “It breaks the fourth wall. The premise behind the game is that it’s an ancient game that vampires have been playing for thousands of years, and a human stole a copy of the game, brought it to Cryptozoic, and we’re publishing it.  The cards in the game don’t have pictures of Bill and Sooki on them; they actually have ancient art from vampire lore.  It’s a game they’ve been playing for thousands of years and now we’re publishing it.  So vampires aren’t too happy about it.”

From Cryptozoic:

Based on the HBO series True Blood, Night Eternal is a game that has existed for thousands of years as a favorite among the vampires. In ancient times, immortal vampires played games with people’s lives and with real blood stakes. Now in card game form, no real blood will be spilled, but the strategy, tactics, and power-plays are still abound. Night Eternal is a competitive card game of intrigue, power-plays and betrayal where vampires jockey for power, position and ultimate control of the rival factions: The Authority and The Monarchy.
