There’s already a large collection of FUNimation anime (and live action) titles on Netflix and Hulu but now the company has announced a new mobile app for iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android devices; no word on iPad compatibility though.
The free version will include clips, trailers, and introductory episodes to shows in the FUNimation catalog while including banner ads and commercials. The paid version will, for a one-time $9.99 fee, bring you “thousands of hours of anime including complete series.” This paid edition will not have banner ads but still include commercials. If you decide to jump onboard the highest tier, and join the Elite Video Subscription program, you’ll get commercial free entertainment and exclusive content but that will carry a $7.95 monthly subscription fee.
