I share my thoughts on the Reforged edition of the Castles & Crusades: Players Handbook. The 288 page hardcover contains everything you need, and is really the only book you truly have to have in order to play or run this classic styled fantasy roleplaying game.

SUMMARY

If I were looking to run a classically styled fantasy roleplaying game - with an old school mentality but utilizing modern mechanics - Castles & Crusades would be my go to pick. I love how modular it is and you can utilize thousands of older D&D (and third party) adventures practically on the fly. I do wish the page background was lighter as there were times I found the text difficult to read.
