I share my thoughts about the new fantasy roleplaying game from Osprey Games. Is this a D100 light, fantasy Bronze Age sword and sorcery roleplaying game worth a purchase? Or is this simply a feeble attempt to knock the current king, Runequest and Glorantha, from it’s Bronze Age throne? You’ll find out!

Summary
Jackals is an extremely solid light D100 roleplaying system. I like the critical and fumble mechanics as well as the rules regarding skill levels over one hundred. Some of the rules aren't as clear as they could be and a bit of the art is less than inspirational, but all in all I think this is well worth a look for those interested in a semi-historical Near Eastern setting. This is also a good fit for those looking for a Bronze Age flavored game without having to invest the time and money Runequest might necessitate.
