I kick back to share my thoughts about the Achtung! Cthulhu 2D20 Starter Set from Modiphius Entertainment. The set is designed to introduce players and game masters to the world of the Secret War in the popular World War II, Mythos horror roleplaying game. The box contains a basic rules booklet, custom dice, battle mats, six pre-generated characters, and an introductory adventure – Among the Wolves.

SUMMARY

The Achtung Cthulhu 2D20 Starter Set is an excellent introduction to the Secret War and the popular World War II, Cthulhu Mythos roleplaying game. I especially like the little extra touches such as the GM screen printed on the box interior, extra player reference charts, and dual sided tokens. It's also very nice to see an introductory adventure which will take a few sessions to complete as well. Sure, I have some quibbles such as not enough attention being devoted to the Truths aspect of the rules and the ungodly long read-alouds throughout the adventure but for anyone even curious about Achtung! Cthulhu 2D20 this is an absolute must buy.
