I take on the latest game design from my friend Hermann Luttmann for GMT Games. The Plum Island Horror places players in the roles of faction leaders trying to defend the island from terrifying and ravenous monsters while also attempting to evacuate as many civilians as they possibly can. The game provides plenty of chaos and is not easily defeated.

SUMMARY

The Plum Island Horror provides plenty of chaotic fun as the players scramble to defend the island and evacuate citizens before they're all drawn into the ever increasing carnage. I especially like the sense of humor of the game too; while this is a horror game it isn't horrific in any way and is suitable for a wide audience. The production quality is top notch and the rulebook clearly presented. I have some quibbles - such as the fact you burn through supplies with most of your ranged attacks which feels like that's there only to artificially inflate the difficulty - but they're pretty minor overall. If you enjoy solitaire or cooperative gaming - and are a fan of horror titles - The Plum Island Horror is a must add to your collection.
