stronghold-logoIf you’re heading to Origins or Gen Con this year you’ll no doubt be interested in what Stronghold Games has in store for you.

From Stronghold:

Stronghold Games is proud to announce its 2013 summer convention season new game releases. The following games will debut at these conventions:

For Origins Game Fair, June 13-16, 2013:

•          Time ‘n’ Space

•          Vampire Empire

•          Völuspá

For Gen Con, August 15-18, 2013:

•          Revolver 1.3: Vengeance On The Frontier

•          Revolver 1.4: The Tarnished Star

•          Revolver 1.5: Death Rides A Horse

•          Space Cadets: Dice Duel

Time ‘n’ Space is for 3-4 players and plays in exactly 30 minutes. This production management, pickup and deliver game provides each player with 2 one-minute sandtimers, which players use to move their starships, produce, and deliver goods. The real-time action management of the timers makes this a truly unique game.

Vampire Empire is a highly thematic game for 2 players, one taking on the role of the Vampire and the other the Hunter. Featuring deduction and bluffing, each player’s deck of cards is unique and grants the powers required to either escape if you are the Vampire or destroy the undead if you are the Hunter.

Völuspá is a tile laying game for 2-5 players themed in the Norse mythology. Players utilize the power of Thor, Loki, Odin, Valkyries, Dragons and other characters to block, capture, or intimidate, and ultimately to dominate other tiles and score points. The game features beautiful artwork by Pierô and deep gameplay.

Revolver 1.3: Vengeance On The Frontier is the third expansion for Revolver 1. It introduces the Frontier deck from which both players can buy cards with coin tokens earned during the game. The expansion also elaborates on the new winning condition added for McReady in Revolver 1.2: Hunt the Man Down.

Revolver 1.4: The Tarnished Star is the fourth expansion for Revolver 1. It adds a “duel” at Rattlesnake Creek and the possibility that the imprisoned Santiago has a hidden weapon. The expansion comes with new Red Poker Chips, and it also adds new cards to the Frontier Deck introduced in Revolver 1.3.

Revolver 1.5: Death Rides A Horse is the fifth expansion for Revolver 1. It focuses on additional cards for the Frontier Deck introduced in Revolver 1.3, additional cards to customize the McReady and Colty decks, a new Ambush card, plus more Red Poker Chips and several new unique tokens.

Space Cadets: Dice Duel, “The Team vs. Team, Real-time, Dice-Rolling Game of Starship Combat!”, divides players into two teams, each playing the crew of a starship, with a mission to destroy the opponent’s ship. The game is played completely in real-time and features plastic starship miniatures and 50 dice, most of which are custom, engraved dice. Space Cadets: Dice Duel is a standalone game, not an expansion.

“This great lineup of games underscores the philosophy adopted by Stronghold Games last year”, said Stephen Buonocore, President of Stronghold Games. “We continue to bring to North America great releases from Europe, as well as support our existing game lines.”

“In addition to this, with the fantastic success of our award-winning game, Space Cadets, we are proud to be working again with the brilliant designer, Geoff Engelstein and his family”, continued Stephen Buonocore. “Space Cadets: Dice Duel will not only leverage the established IP of Space Cadets, but Geoff and family have created a truly unique game experience with the team vs. team, realtime, dice-rolling mechanics of this game.”

Gamers in attendance at Origins and Gen Con should note that these games will be in extremely limited supply for these shows. Those who are looking to pick up one of the first copies in North America of these new game releases should come to the Stronghold Games booth immediately as we do not expect the supply of these titles to last for the entire show.
