This year’s October Spooktacular kicks off with a classic tale from the venerable horror show The Witch’s Tale. Quite possibly the first horror themed radio program, beginning to air in 1931, very few of The Witch’s Tale original recordings survive – mainly because creator Alonzo Deen Cole destroyed his copies in 1961. We’ll begin the Spooktacular with one of the best episodes of the series.
In The Devil Doctor, which aired January 8th, 1934, an American purchases an English manor only to learn one of the previous owners was a devil worshipping doctor once he arrives to take possession.
