Jeff tackles the supernatural WWI roleplaying game Never Going Home from Wet Ink Games. The game places players in the roles of soldiers on the front lines embarking on missions facing off against both the human enemy and beings who has passed across The Veil from another world, known as The Others. Never Going Home utilizes the dice and playing card driven +One System of mechanics.

SUMMARY

Never Going Home's main selling point is the game world and setting; an interesting mix of WWI and a supernatural incursion into our world. I love the artwork throughout but the rest of the presentation is relatively bland. It also doesn't help that the layout is strangely ordered as we're introduced to concepts of the game before even seeing the rules of play and character creation. Overall, the game mechanics clock in relatively mid-weight. I like Never Going Home and the review score would be higher if the core book were more intuitive and conducive to learning the game.
