The Hunt for Gollum provides players a brand new scenario to explore as their heroes fight new enemies and scout new locations in search of clues. Gollum’s trail can be treacherous, however, and if your heroes aren’t careful they may spend all their time pursuing false leads.
While you don’t need more than The Hunt for Gollum and the Core Set to play the expansion’s new scenario, 
it also begins the narrative arc of the epic Shadows of Mirkwood cycle of Adventure Packs. This first chapter sends your heroes out to find Gollum’s trail, but it’s no easy road. The Shadows of Mirkwood cycle continues the search for Gollum past the Anduin Valley, through perilous combat, to hidden locations, and even on a mission of mercy.
These monthly Adventure Packs each contain a new, unique scenario and new cards that give you greater flexibility in your deck designs. The Hunt for Gollum begins the journey, and next month your heroes will dive into combat with trolls in Conflict at the Carrock.
