A Gate Opens in Roseville: Arkham Nights 2010

As some of you may be aware, I am a huge H.P. Lovecraft fan. That is why I was excited to learn of the Cthulhu Mythos weekend planned at the Fantasy Flight Games event center in Roseville, MN next month.

The weekend will feature games of Arkham Horror and the Call of Cthulhu LCG, as well as a preview of the new Mythos based game coming from FFG.

Here is what the FFG website has to say:

Arkham Nights, October 22nd-24th, is your chance to experience the adventure and horror of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos in Roseville, Minnesota. Featuring guest appearances by Christian T. Petersen, Kevin Wilson, and original Arkham Horror designer Richard Launius, Arkham Nights is a three-day celebration of the supernatural and weird through gaming and other fun activities.

Arkham Nights will feature demo games, tournaments, seminars, a costume contest, and more! Whether you are just learning to play our games, looking for a competitive tournament to demonstrate your skills in, interested in the creative process of game design, we will have programming for you!

Come to Arkham Nights and prepare to be devoured…

You can meet The Gaming Gang’s own Elliott Miller (me) there as well, come say “Hi!” and let me know what you think of the website (Please be kind).

All attendees will receive:

  • An exclusive Arkham Nights event guidebook including a guide to Arkham’s investigators, and overview of our various Cthulhu-themed titles, and more!
  • Two new Great Old One cards for Arkham Horror. Be among the first to face the terror of these ancient terrors!
  • A cloth drawstring monster bag for Arkham Horror. This stylish black velvet bag features an Elder Sign emblazoned on its front!
  • Three custom domain cards for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game. Featuring stunning art, these cards will help you mark your in-game resources in style!
  • and more!

Plus those who pre-register will receive:

  • A custom souvenir Arkham Nights name badge and lanyard, designed in the style of an Ally card from Arkham Horror! With your name professionally printed on this eye-catching badge, you can mingle among your fellow cultists in style.
  • A Cthulhu mythos-themed art print! A haunting representation of an ancient evil being summoned forth from the depths of the sea, this evocative piece by artist Johannes Holm is suitable for framing, and will be a beautiful addition to any Lovecraft enthusiast’s collection.
  • An opportunity to be among the first to play the new Mansions of Madness game based on the cosmic horror of H.P. Lovecraft!

I couldn’t pass it up, especially the Monster Bag, and the Ally Card with my name on it? Too Cool! (Yeah, I’m a geek)

It’s $25.00 for the whole weekend, maybe I will see you there. The Horror!

You can learn more and pre-register at Fantasy Flight Games
