Our Last Best Hope Enters Last Week on Kickstarter

In what appears to be a Fiasco sort of two to three hour GM-less role playing game, Our Last Best Hope from Magpie Games, is entering its last few days for Kickstarter support. What if it was up to you and your crew to save humanity from some terrible crisis? You’ll find out soon enough!

Just don’t enlist Elliott and I into the crew, unless you want to doom the planet…

The project is currently funded but that shouldn’t stop you from getting in on board.

From Magpie Games:

Our Last Best Hope is tabletop roleplaying game for three (3) to five (5) players that takes about two hours to play. During the game, you and your friends will play through a classic disaster movie, like Sunshine, Deep Impact, The Core, or Armageddon, where your characters are the stars. Each game is unique, as your group confronts a new Crisis with a new set of characters and a new plan to save the Earth.

While playing Our Last Best Hope, you might:

…launch into space to stop a meteor from destroying all life on Earth.

…drill to the center of the Earth to restart its molten core.

…navigate zombie filled cities to stop a nuclear holocaust.

Regardless of the Crisis, you, and your crew, are our last best hope.

Our Last Best Hope does not require a GM, nor is there any preptime required before the game starts. Inspired by roleplaying classics like Fiasco and Polaris, Our Last Best Hope is designed to be played as a one-shot epic game that will leave your gaming group with incredible stories.

We’re raising funds to produce a professional version of our entry into the Game Chef 2012 contest.  With the help of our layout staff, the final version of Our Last Best Hope will feature revamped rules, new resolution mechanics, and three distinct mission profiles for use in the game (The Arctic, Space, and Zombie Apocalypse). Back our project and help make this unique game a reality!
