Better hurry, less than two days left to get in on the Kickstarter project for a new type of video game console. It is called the OUYA and it will be an open source gaming console using the Andriod 4.0 platform. Open source means that anyone, any developer can create games or apps for the OUYA (yes it is a gaming platform, but I’m guessing there will be apps too).
The console will sell for just $99, a lot cheaper than most of the other consoles out there. Plus, they have worked out agreements that companies developing games for the OUYA must provide at least some games free of charge. Yes, they will have Minecraft, and you can watch Twitch TV if you like keeping up with Starcraft.
I’m thinking that this console is going to make a big splash. There is already over 7 million in funding, when their goal was only 950k. anticipated release date is March 2013.
