Mayfair Games has announced the 2012 Settlers of Catan championship will stream live online this September 15th. Players from around the world will descend upon Pennsylvania in the hopes of taking home the Catan crown. I’m not sure how exciting watching other people play Settlers might be but you’ll be able to catch the tournament at http://www.livestream.com/mayfairgames beginning Saturday at 9:30 AM Eastern.

From Mayfair:

On September 14th, 2012 contestants will converge on Normandy Farms, Pennsylvania near one of the most historic sites in American history: Valley Forge. There, they will make history again by crowning the greatest Catan player in the world at the Catan World Championship (CWC).

For the past two years, settlers from around the world competed for a spot in the CWC and in 4 days champions from 29 nations will determine the true master of Catan. Nations sending representatives include: Australia; Austria; Belgium; Brazil; Canada; Chile; Costa Rica; Europe; Finland; France; Germany; Hong Kong; Italy; Japan; Latvia; Lithuania; Malaysia; Mexico; Netherlands; Norway; Portugal; Romania; Russia; Singapore; Slovakia; Spain; Switzerland; United Kingdom; USA (The North American Champion and the Reigning World Champion).

In addition to the main event, participants will be treated to the rich history of the region as well as a performance by world class folk act The Fiddlers of Catan. Mayfair Games will provide more coverage of this invitation-only event in the days to come, so watch for more updates as we crown the best Settlers of Catan player in the world!

Mayfair Games is ecstatic to announce the Catan World Championships (CWC) will be live-streamed around the world this year!

With the best Settlers of Catan players from 29 nations around the world, live music from world-class folk group The Fiddlers of Catan and even an appearance by Bob and Angus, the invitation-only World Championship is one of the hottest tickets in gaming.
