3012 Deck Building Game Now Available from Cryptozoic

Just released is the new 3012 Deck Building Game from Cryptozoic Entertainment with a retail price of $44.99.

Cryptozoic Entertainment, the premier developer of licensed and original games, including The Walking Dead™ Board Game and Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Duel at Mt. Skullzfyre, is proud to launch an all-new deck-building game, 3012, now available in hobby stores nationwide. 3012 is set a thousand years after the world almost ended, when humanity is divided into five clans, each battling against or forming unsteady alliances with the others in the ultimate struggle for survival. An in-depth and exciting deck-building game, 3012 will pit two to four players against one another as they each take the role of a Hero, competing to amass allies, weapons and action cards in order to dominate the other clans.

“Every player can get involved in almost every turn, which is a big part of what makes 3012 a unique deck-building game,” said Scott Gaeta, chief operating officer for Cryptozoic. “The game is about survival, and all the strategy, cunning and luck that go with it. Ultimately, to be the winning Hero, you’ll have to make some tough decisions, make and break alliances, and prove you’re the strongest.”

“It’s been great working with Cryptozoic to bring 3012 to life. I’ve been developing the game for years, and I’m really excited to get it out to players,” said Charles Tyson, game designer for 3012. “Cryptozoic has been fantastic to work with—great developers, great marketers and great gamers. But the thing I liked best was the artwork they put together. It’s creepy and stylish, and it’s just what a post–Mayan–end of the world future would look and feel like to me.”

In Cryptozoic’s 3012 deck-building game, each player, acting as a Hero, builds his or her deck by gaining combat skills in order to defeat beasts and monsters in Encounters. Players can participate in each Encounter by helping or hindering other Heroes to the advantage of their own clan. 3012 is ready-to-play out of the box, with 228 game cards, five oversized Hero cards, five level tokens, 120 Action cards, 48 Encounter cards, 25 Gold cards, and 20 each of Ally, Weapon and Scout cards. Plus, the game includes a game board that is used to keep the different types of cards sorted out when the action gets fast and furious.
