As Luke Warren discussed with Elliott at last year’s Gen Con (The Gaming Gang Extra 70: Gen Con 2012 – NorthStar Games) a new family game is arriving from Northstar Games and it will be unveiled at the upcoming New York Toy Fair taking place February 10th through the 13th. For two to six players ages 8 and up while taking no more than 30 minutes to play, Clubs will challenge the players to use a bit more strategy than you may find in the average trick taking game. Shipping with standard rules and a variant known as Crazy Clubs, the game will retail for $13.99 and will be available at many big box stores.
From Northstar:
If you like Hearts and Spades, you’ll love Clubs!
Clubs combines trick-taking fun with a hint of risk. The goal is simple: take tricks with clubs in them. But watch out! The last player to get rid of their cards scores nothing, even if they have a huge pile of clubs. If you like Hearts and Spades, you’ll love Clubs!
Simple enough for kids, strategic enough for adults. Great to play while on the go!
