One thing you have to love about the age of self publishing is if you have the talent and wherewithal you can get your work in front of the public. Recently I ran across an interesting looking RPG supplement promising plenty of fun and adventure in the modern era (or at least the modern era of the late 19th/early 20th centuries). Grit & Vigor, written by Blood & Treasure author John M. Stater, can plug into just about any old school roleplaying system and aid GMs in running games set in a slew of genres. If you’re looking to tackle two-fisted pulp tales, or cloak and dagger espionage, or explorations into the unknown you might want to give Grit & Vigor a look.
On a side note, check out John’s Land of Nod blog as there’s loads of interesting articles covering the history of RPGs, and old school gaming in general, as well as a bimonthly magazine.
About Grit & Vigor:
Your pulse pounds
Beads of sweat run down your brow
You grip your pistol tighter
It can all be yours
It just takes GRIT & VIGOR
GRIT & VIGOR is the game of bold ventures for rugged fellows. Roll up a character, buy some gear, and get down to business. G&V is rules lite and options heavy. In its 200 pages, you’ll find everything from monsters to machine guns, with advice on running all sorts of modern campaigns, from gentlemanly mysteries to espionage to explorations into the unknown. It also includes a timeline of adventure, covering the years 1880 to 1939, with important events of those years as well a selection of the firearms, cars, planes and military vehicles of those years. Future supplements will expand that coverage back to the Golden Age of Piracy and forward into the far future.
GRIT & VIGOR is compatible with most old school games, including BLOOD & TREASURE.
