The table top gaming focused Pax Unplugged is set to take Philadelphia by storm this November 17th – 19th and tickets are now on sale. Single day badges are $25.00, three day badges going for $60.00, and special Sunday kids badges $10.00. While the hugely successful PAX conventions have included coverage of board games and RPGs in the past, the focus has squarely been on video gaming. This inaugural Unplugged show is going to put the paper and pencil/meeple and counter crowd center stage; something our audience will surely be pleased to hear. The three day convention will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
From PAX:
Tickets for PAX Unplugged 2017, the inaugural tabletop-focused addition to the international line-up of PAX events, taking place November 17-19, 2017 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, are now on sale. Single day badges cost $25, 3-Day badges are $60 and Sunday Kids badges (for 6-12 year-olds) are available for $10.
Providing a familiar experience that has entertained millions of PAX attendees for more than a decade, PAX Unplugged will give tabletop, card and board game enthusiasts a dedicated event to celebrate their rich and thriving culture. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness developers reveal new and exciting titles, play highly anticipated unreleased games, participate in tournaments and observe panels headed by industry luminaries.
Although PAX Unplugged will focus on tabletop gaming, video games featuring tabletop game elements will also be present at the expo.
“Tabletop gaming can mean a lot of different things, but whatever it means to you, I want PAX Unplugged to be a home for it,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade. “There’s a renaissance right now in the space, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
