A new Richard Lanius design will be arriving at Gen Con from Arcane Wonders and it promises plenty of good fun with bad guys. Dragonscales will feature a variety of villains all in pursuit of dragon loot, and the aforementioned magic scales, as each aims to survive the lair delve and emerge with the most treasure. The game is for three to five players, ages 14+, plays in around an hour, and will carry an MSRP of $59.99 when it premieres in Indy. If you aren’t going to be at the show then the game arrives in stores September 18th.
From Arcane Wonders:
You have proven yourself a formidable villain, but are you ready to face the peerless might of a three-headed dragon deep within his lair? Can you overcome his defenses and take all three of his heads as trophies? Will you only plunder his hoard and flee to safety? Or will another villain take the glory and spoils that are rightfully yours?
In Dragonscales, three to five cunning villains will venture into the Great Dragon’s Lair, seeking to collect as much treasure and as many magical Dragonscales as possible. Fight, steal, run, and maybe betray! Only one villain can emerge the victor!
Designed by Richard Launius (Arkham Horror, Elder Sign), players take the role of villains that are bold enough to take on a mighty, three-headed dragon. Each villain will have their own unique deck of actions and tactics to use against their opponents. Each player will also roll dice each turn that are slotted on their board for different actions. As dice are slotted, benefits are awarded based on rolling more dice of a certain face.
