Genre: Gateway set collection and movement game of butterfly migration
MSRP: $49.99 when it arrives August 28th, 2020
I share a bit of a how to play as well as my thoughts on Mariposas, the latest design from Elizabeth Hargrave from AEG. In the game, players will lead generations of butterflies on the annual migration from Mexico, through much of North America and then back. Is this a gateway game which really takes flight? Or can you fly on past this release? You’ll find out.
Quick note: The butterflies travel throughout North America, not just America, and the plant butterflies need to be near to hatch a new generation is Milkweed not Silkwood or Milkwood. Doh!

Summary
Mariposas is a great new gateway game sure to please light and family gamers everywhere. The production quality is very nicely done and the game a lovely and relaxing experience, players might even learn a little something about Monarch butterflies along the way. There is a little bit of luck involved and that might turn off some Eurogamers but for the most part I think most gamers will love this new Elizabeth Hargrave design.
