Midwestern miniatures players rejoice because Adepticon is returning for their ninth year! We’ve just added info regarding the four day convention (April 1st – 4th, 2011 in Lombard, IL) to the Upcoming Convention page.
From the Adepticon website:
Last year over 1200 hobbyists took part in the fellowship, excitement, and enthusiasm that has earned AdeptiCon its reputation as the “can’t miss” event of the year for the miniature wargamers across the country and the globe. We brought back our traditional Games Workshop favorites, and expanded our lineup of events to include new core gaming systems, such as Privateer Press’s Warmachine and Hordes, and Battlefront’s Flames of War. You can expect all of our core gaming systems to return, with a lineup of both traditional AdeptiCon signature events as well as new, exciting challenges.
AdeptiCon has some exciting changes and additions in store for 2011! We experienced enormous growth last year, seeing the additions of both Flames of War and Warmachine, and AdeptiCon 2011 promises to be another great year of refining the AdeptiCon experience.
We are still working out the final details, but expect to see the following changes and additions in 2011:
- A unified schedule across all events, making it even easier to play in all your favorite games.
- A refined set of Warhammer 40K Team Tournament rules based on attendee feedback.
- An expanded Warhammer 40K Championships format consisting of a 4-round qualifier event on Friday and a 3-round finals event on Sunday.
- Revised Gladiator format and schedule.
- A revised and retooled set of events for Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition.
- AdeptiCon will host the 2011 Flames of War Mid-war Invitational.
- The Warhammer Ancients Dark Ages Campaign has already begun!
- Expanded Thursday evening schedule, including additional seminars.
- The return of the Epic Armageddon Challenge!
- A Warhammer 40K Kill Team event.
- Even more terrain!
As always AdeptiCon 2011 will be packed to the brim with wargaming madness. Flames of War and Privateer Press will be back along with all your favorite Specialist Games and hobby seminars. The dog days of summer are almost over, April will be here before you know it!
