Netflix has continued to play coy as far as the release date for The Punisher this year but it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to simply take a closer look at the final seconds of yesterday’s trailer to actually reveal the date: November 17th, 2017. The streaming company looks to right the ship with their Marvel co-productions following the lackluster reviews for Iron Fist and the recent reveal The Defenders garnered the lowest number of viewers, in the first thirty days of availability, of any Marvel/Netflix produced series. Thankfully, Jon Bernthal returns to the role of Frank Castle as the inclusion of the Punisher was a major highlight of Daredevil’s second season.
Netflix has already indicated The Punisher will be the darkest and most violent of any Marvel series and, if the trailer below is any indication, they aren’t kidding; the body count in less than two and a half minutes is pretty staggering! The Punisher also stars Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson.
