For my money, one of the finest radio actors was Vincent Price, although he’s obviously far better remembered for his long film career. Fans of old time radio recall Price’s near four year run as the gentleman thief Simon Templar in The Saint from 1947 through 1951. During that time, Price also appeared on many other programs including tonight’s episode of Escape. The classic Georges G Toudouze tale Three Skeleton Key received a second treatment on Escape with Price taking on the role of our narrator Jean. The story has been adapted for radio quite a few times but perhaps with none better than this airing.
