By now you know Suspense was a favorite of listeners for over two decades. The radio engineers provided yeoman’s work with the sound effects too, which no doubt added to the program’s popularity. Tonight’s entry into the Spooktacular features some staples of the classic spooky fireside tale. An escaped lunatic, a dark night, an isolated and deserted road, a broken down car, a young couple who are lost, and the pouring rain. Checks all the boxes doesn’t it? Oh… And we get Cary Grant too!
Turn out the lights, sit back, and give a listen to On A County Road as it aired on Suspense on November 16th, 1950.
