Fans of Vlaada Chvátil’s Codenames, as well as J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series, will be thrilled to know USAopoly will release Codenames: Harry Potter next month. Players will enjoy the game mechanics of Codenames Duet as they delve into the Potterverse. Codenames Harry Potter is for two players (or possibly 2-4 players as I’ve seen conflicting info), ages 11+, plays in around 15-30 minutes, and will carry an MSRP of $24.95 when it arrives in September.
From USAopoly:
Codenames: Harry Potter features the gameplay from Codenames Duet, with players working together to reveal all the right cards before they run out of time or summon Lord Voldemort or another dark wizard.
The cards that players need to guess feature a word or phrase on one side and an image on the other.
This is a fun, easy-to-learn, cooperative, word-and-picture deduction game for Harry Potter fans of all game levels. Players help their teammates locate secret agents who are concealed among a grid of Harry Potter references. Use only one-word clues to guide guessers to the right spots—or hidden Death Eaters will cost them the win.
