Modern Necessities: Professional Edition for OSE Passes 200% Kickstarter Funding Mark

The Scrying Dutchman is in the midst of a successful Kickstarter to bring the Modern Necessities: Professional Edition to Old School Essentials players and GMs. The book builds upon the previously released Modern Necessities with more weapons, vehicles, options, and rules to bring the real world – or even a fantasy world with a dose of the modern – to life at your game table. The project has passed the 200% funding mark and you can reserve a copy of the softcover POD (with PDF) for a pledge of approximately $21.00 or score just the PDF for a pledge of approximately $10.00 through March 31st. Expected delivery is March 2025.

Modern Necessities: Professional Edition is a supplement that is made to give a distinctly modern flavor to your Old-School Essentials and other B/X ruleset campaigns. Adding a plethora of modern themed classes, firearms, equipment, vehicles, magic and even NPCs, it allows you to mix these with standard OSE B/X rules to your heart’s content. With Modern Necessities, you can run purely modern campaigns, craft your own urban fantasy settings, or even add some contemporary setting flavor to classic adventure modules. The sky is the limit!

While the original version was released in early 2023, and quickly became a silver seller on DriveThruRPG, this much updated version of Modern Necessities aims to add improved mechanics, improved layout, more content, additional art and a hardcover version through the provided funding.
