It has arrived. The Nightfall iOS is now available in the iTunes app store. Here’s the press release:
Playdek, a leading mobile video game publisher, and Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG), developer of the award-winning card game Nightfall, have just released the universal iOS incarnation of Nightfall, available in the App Store starting today. In this horror-themed deck-building game, players are the masters who control hordes of ghouls, vampires and werewolves, as they rely on their strategic thinking and cunning to gain control of a post-apocalyptic world.
The mayhem begins when players claim a team of minions, such as the urbane vampire Yuri Koroviev, kickass human hunters, screaming ghouls, hungry werewolves and more. As master of these minions, players fight to the death, trying to inflict wounds and outsmart their opponents. When the battle is over, the player with the fewest wounds wins.
Nightfall features a unique chaining mechanic, bringing a strategic element to gameplay. Chaining together minions and actions unleashes special effects, but beware! Players must calculate how the chain will impact their play. If used wisely, players can inflict wounds and weaken opponents, but one wrong play and the game can change! A special “Kicker” instruction on cards is activated in certain circumstances, adding to the challenge.
“Nightfall is a heavy-hitting card game that has won numerous awards. We knew it would make a great mobile game,” said Joel Goodman, CEO, Playdek. “We put our years of video game design experience to work to create an iOS game that will hook you right from the start with its beautiful details and intelligent gameplay.”
In Nightfall, all battle and drafting takes place on a unique arched and revolving play space, allowing up to five players to go at each other’s throats at once. Playdek designed the post-apocalyptic interface to match the artwork on the original game cards. Intense music adds to the otherworldly play and three promo cards, unlocked through gameplay, are included.
“We are extremely excited to bring our games to the mobile platform,” said Jon Zinser, CEO, AEG. “Playdek has brought Nightfall to the iOS platform in a way that makes the play experience even better for the customer.”
Play online with two to five players or offline with one to five players. The game is available for $4.99To purchase for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, visit iTunes (SRP $4.99).
