An upcoming science fiction game from Lucky Duck Games has generated a nice bit of buzz following an appearance at Spiel 2018 and it’s heading to American shores in February. In Ganymede, players will each compete to shuttle settlers from Earth to Jupiter’s largest moon as humanity begins to take root throughout the galaxy. The game is for two to four players, ages 14+, plays in around 20-40 minutes and will carry an MSRP of $39.99 when it arrives in February.
From Lucky Duck:
In Ganymede, players are corporations specialized in transporting settlers to Ganymede, where the settler ship launch sites are located. These ships will lead the settlers to distant planets of the galaxy.
Resources (settlers) are not spent, but transported from one location to another thanks to the shuttle cards used by players during the game. Settlers return to the reserve once a completed settler ship takes off, rewarding players with victory points.
Ganymede is a development and tableau-building game in which players are corporations specialized in sending settlers to colonize the universe. To do so, you will recruit settlers on Earth, use shuttles to transport them to Mars, then to Ganymede where the settlers’ ships launch base is located.
The game ends when a player has launched four settlers’ ships into space. Players score VP from their launched ships and from their reputation track.
