As someone who really digs two player, card driven historical games I’m interested in seeing a bit more about Watergate from Capstone Games. In the game, each player takes the role of opposing forces: the reporters for the Washington Post aiming to expose a political cover up or agents of the White House pledged to protecting the American President. Watergate is for two players, ages 12+, plays in around an hour, and will carry an MSRP of $34.99 when it arrives in early August.
From Capstone:
Created by Matthias Cramer (Lancaster, Glen More), Watergate pits one player acting as a journalist in the Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein mold against an opponent who manages the efforts of the Richard Nixon White House to cover up the June 1972 break-in at the Watergate building. Each player has their own separate deck of cards that they use to take actions during the game. The journalist player tries to link evidence of the crime and its perpetrators to the Nixon administration while the White House player tries to suppress the evidence long enough to win reelection for the president.
