Score Cool Games & Help a Great Cause with the ‘Jack Vasel Memorial Fund Auction’

Jack Vasel Memorial Fund LogoI’ll be the first to admit I don’t necessarily usually send visitors off to websites folks would think are competitors of TGG (not that I ever look at us being in competition with anyone, since we pretty much do our own thing around these here parts) but I would be remiss if I didn’t help spread the word about the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund Auction taking place right now over at Board Game Geek. The annual event gives gamers a chance to grab some cool games, and other unique BGG goodies, while also helping a very worthwhile cause.

I tend to tease Mr. Vasel but I actually really like Tom and give him a lot of credit for all he’s done for the board gaming hobby. In fact, The Gaming Gang probably wouldn’t even been around if it hadn’t been for The Dice Tower podcast. You see Elliott Miller (now operating his own website VoiceofE) introduced me to the show. After listening to a few episodes of The Dice Tower I said to Elliott, “Hey, this is pretty good but I bet – having already had years of experience in table top gaming – we could do something a little different and even launch a full fledged website.” Yep. That’s how we got started back in 2010.

Regardless, Tom took what was a horribly tragic event in his own life and created something mighty positive out of it with the Jack Vassal Memorial Fund. So get on over to BGG before November 14th and take aim at getting yourself some gaming goodness while helping other gamers who might find themselves in need. ‘Nuff said.
